Joycelyn Vest has been named Edustaff’s 2025–2026 Substitute of the Year for the state of Utah, according to a notice from the Nebo School District.
Vest, who has worked in the district since February 2023, is recognized for her work at Landmark High School.
Staff members at Landmark High School provided nominations for the award, stating that Vest is a reliable presence who builds relationships with students. Nominators noted that she maintains high expectations and a positive attitude in the classroom.
Before becoming a substitute, Vest worked in admissions for residential treatment centers and edited educational content. She is an alumna of Utah Valley University and has traveled extensively, including a semester abroad in Jerusalem and trekking the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
The Nebo School District expressed gratitude to Vest for her dedication to students and schools following the statewide honor.
