Salt Lake County scheduled onsite mobile mammogram screenings for three dates in September 2026. The initiative focused on early detection to help find breast cancer before symptoms appear.
The scheduled screenings included sessions at the Metro Jail, located at 3415 S. 900 W. in Salt Lake City, on Friday, September 4, 2026. Another session was set for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Government Center at 2001 S. State St. in Salt Lake City. A third location was scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Viridian Library at 8000 S. Redwood Rd. in West Jordan.
According to the flyer, mammograms can detect cancer up to two years earlier than a physical exam. The materials stated that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and that the five-year survival rate is 99% when breast cancer is found early. SelectHealth and PEHP insurance were listed as accepted providers for the appointments.
The mobile mammogram program was designed to offer convenient and local life-saving services to the community.
